The following are things that are interesting to me at this time. Books that I am reading and referencing, exhibits that I have seen or wish to find the time to see.

"THE FLOWERING OF FLORENCE - BOTANICAL ART FOR THE MEDICI"
This book describes the importance of flowers and landscapes in the artworks created for the Medici family during their long powerful control of Florence and the surrounding country sides. I have always been fascinated by the weird landscapes that are behind the portraits of the Madonna, St. Francis and the other religious works of long ago. If you are ever in NYC, be sure to see the lovely painting in The Frick by Giovanni Bellini, "St. Francis in the Desert" c. 1840, besides other great works.

"INSIDE THE PAINTER'S STUDIO"
A voyeurs dream, pictures of artists studios with interviews that ask each one the same questions. I love how they describe their daily pattern of work.
